Rooted in Nissan’s vision to create a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive world, the program demonstrates our belief that corporate responsibility goes beyond developing future marketers, it’s about empowering the next generation to contribute to a more sustainable society. The NISSAN e-POWER Challenge 2024 was created to inspire and develop young talent by immersing students in a hands-on learning environment that encouraged both creativity and strategic thinking. University teams from across Thailand were challenged to craft innovative marketing proposals and produce original video content that communicates the value of Nissan’s e-POWER technology in an engaging and educational way. To support their growth, Nissan brought in experienced marketing and communications experts to provide personalized feedback and serve as judges throughout the competition.

Finalists from each region were selected to showcase their ideas in the final round, which took place during the recent Bangkok International Motor Show. The students demonstrated their full potential through professional-level presentations and well-structured marketing plans that impressed even seasoned marketers. Each team brought unique perspectives—some integrating Thai culture or local beliefs to enhance their storytelling. Many teams stood out for their production quality, from storyline development and narrative flow to camera angles and overall video execution.

The national champion team from Sripatum University won a THB 100,000 scholarship and a special study trip to Japan, where they had the opportunity to visit Nissan’s headquarters in Yokohama.

The first runner-up team, comprising students from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Srinakharinwirot University, and Bangkok University, received a THB 50,000 scholarship.  They also earned the NISSAN e-POWER Challenge Popular View Award for the second time, receiving an additional THB 20,000 scholarship for the highest video views.

The second runner-up was a team from Naresuan University, received a THB 30,000 scholarship. Three consolation prizes of THB 20,000 each were awarded to teams from RMUT Rattanakosin, Mahasarakham University, and Phuket Rajabhat University.

Adjima Wannapintu, Vice President for Marketing, Nissan Motor Thailand, expressed her admiration for the students’ work:

“Although the participants are still amateurs, many of their ideas truly caught the attention of our professional marketing team. Their fresh perspectives helped us better understand the younger generation who will soon become our future customers. What stood out the most was their courage to step out of their comfort zones and try something new, which reflects Nissan’s philosophy of ‘Dare to Do What Others Don’t.’ This quality is the foundation of innovation and a promising beginning for young people aspiring to thrive in the digital marketing world. We hope this Japan trip served as a powerful source of inspiration. Nissan remains committed to creating more opportunities for young talents to discover and develop their potential through initiatives like this.” said Adjima.

In addition to the scholarship, the four winning team members were invited on a study trip to Japan, an experience they totally described as unforgettable. During the trip, they admired the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji, an iconic symbol of Japan, and visited Nissan’s global headquarters, the heart of the brand. They also explored the NISSAN Heritage Collection, home to legendary vehicles dating back to the brand’s early days, including various models and race cars that earned Nissan international acclaim. The visit deepened their sense of appreciation for the Nissan brand. The team also toured the NISSAN GALLERY, which showcases the full lineup of Nissan’s current vehicle offerings.

The students also had the chance to visit NISSAN Crossing in Ginza, where they experienced an immersive journey into the future of automotive innovation under the theme of Nissan Intelligent Mobility. They explored Nissan’s vision of creating vehicles and technologies that contribute to a zero-emission future and a world with zero accident involving Nissan cars. The exhibition featured concept cars that highlighted the brand’s leadership in technology, innovation, design, and forward-thinking ideas that aim to transform the future of mobility.

Another highlight of the trip was visiting the immersive digital art exhibition at TOKYO Team Lab Borderless: MORI Building DIGITAL ART MUSEUM. The experience sparked new inspiration and fueled the students’ creativity, giving them fresh ideas and energy to carry forward into their future careers.

Jirachai Jansri, a representative from the winning team, shared: “We’re truly grateful to Nissan for giving us this opportunity. Being part of this program was an incredible experience. We had the chance to meet Nissan executives and staff, which inspired us in many ways. We learned about the brand’s rich history and witnessed its exciting vision for future innovations. It made us feel even more connected to the Nissan brand. Most importantly, through the Nissan e-POWER Challenge, we discovered how e-POWER is a highly relevant and distinctive technology for today’s world, attentive and capable of delivering a great driving experience. After seeing the latest e-POWER innovations in Japan, we’re even more impressed and inspired.”
