Nissan supports Thai government ‘Smart City’ concept at Thailand Industry Expo 2019
Event highlights how the all-new Nissan LEAF zero-emission EV transforms the way people live and drive towards a more sustainable future
BANGKOK, Thailand (July 18, 2019) – Nissan Motor Thailand brings the all-new Nissan LEAF to the Thailand Industry Expo 2019, showcasing its ‘Intelligent Driving’ technology that is built upon zero-emissions to support the Thai government’s ‘Smart City’ concept for a more sustainable future for the country.
“As the Thai government increases its smart mobility initiatives alongside smart infrastructure and intelligent transport management solutions, Nissan is dedicated to playing an active supporting role to positively help transform the way Thai people live and drive. Zero-emission Electric Vehicles, like the all-new Nissan LEAF, are an important component of this future-facing strategy,” said Ramesh Narasimhan, president of Nissan Thailand.
“Building Thailand's smart cities of the future starts with a sustainable electric vehicle ecosystem that supports the Thai government's smart city policies. These initiatives will help to improve local air quality and sustainably reduces PM 2.5 pollution,” Narasimhan added.
To help create a sustainable electric vehicle ecosystem in the Kingdom, Nissan in Thailand is cooperating with various public and private sector partners. These include agreements with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), and Delta Electronics, along with the 32 certified Nissan EV dealers across Thailand.
In accordance with government policies, guidelines for infrastructure expansion, transportation solutions, and intelligent transportation discussed at Thailand Industry Expo 2019, Nissan will share its Nissan Intelligent Mobility displays, including Intelligent Driving technology.
This includes a dedicated LEAF Education zone in the Nissan booth, including an e-PEDAL simulator, for show attendees to try. The e-PEDAL allows drivers to start, accelerate, decelerate, and stop using just one pedal. Highlighting many of the most advanced technologies in the all-new Nissan LEAF.
“These technologies are created to help Thai drivers feel more confident, excited and connected thanks to Nissan Intelligent Mobility innovations, the company's approach to changing the way cars are driven, powered and integrated into society. With the aim to help move people to a better world, that is more electric, more connected and more autonomous,” concluded Narasimhan.
Thailand Industry Expo 2019 runs from 18 to 21 July, at Impact Challenger Hall, Muang Thong Thani. Nissan invites attendees to visit its booth AA04 and check out the all-new Nissan LEAF and the Leaf EV Education zone for a fully immersive EV experience. Car-enthusiasts can also see a full range of exciting Nissan vehicles on display, including the popular Nissan Note, a compact hatchback, and X-Trail HEV, the new smart hybrid SUV.
