(Bangkok, July 20, 2017) : Two Nissan models were simultaneously ranked first in Japan’s half-year sales rankings by segment for the first time ever: the Nissan Serena and Nissan Note were Japan’s best-selling models in two segments – minivans and compact cars* – in the first half of the calendar year 2017.

The new Nissan Note was launched in Japan in November 2016 with ProPILOT, a key Nissan Intelligent Mobility technology that supports drivers by helping control acceleration, braking, and steering during single-lane driving on the highway. The technology is currently also available in the Nissan Serena and recently introduced in the Nissan X-Trail in Japan.

Mr. Antoine Barthes, President of Nissan Motor Thailand, said: "Earlier this year, Nissan Motor Thailand launched the new Note with cutting-edge Intelligent Driving technologies. This is the first and only compact car with the Intelligent Around View Monitor (AVM) that gives the driver a 360-degree view around the car.”

Also included is Moving Object Detection (MOD) together with the Intelligent Forward Collision Warning and Intelligent Emergency Braking systems. “These state-of the-art technologies, combined with best in class fuel efficiency at 20 kilometers per liter, low emission of no more than 120 grams per kilometer, make the Note unrivaled in its category,” Bathes said.

While Nissan Motor Thailand is a leading provider of vehicles for every Thai customer across every segment, the company remains committed to engaging existing, prospective and future customers even more around the cutting-edge features and technologies in its vehicles.

Nissan Note a Top Seller in Japan

“Responding to feedback from customers, partners and the media, we recently invited prospective Note buyers and media to take an extended test drive and experience first-hand the best-in-class roominess, fuel economy and state-of-the-art safety features and Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies in the Nissan Note in the northern province of Chiang Rai under the successful ‘Note the Intelligent Hatch’ driving event,” Barthes said.

Nissan continues to innovate to benefit its customers in all car segments and the societies in which they live through Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which has three core areas of innovation: how cars are powered - Intelligent Power; how cars are driven - Intelligent Driving - and how cars are integrated into society - Intelligent Integration.
