First group of customers takes delivery of the 2022 Nissan GT-R in Thailand
Bangkok, Thailand (27 December 2021) – Nissan Thailand together with Nissan Krungthai proudly handed over five new 2022 Nissan GT-Rs including Nissan GT-R T-Specs and GT-R Premium Luxury editions to the first Thai customers in a ceremony at Nissan Krungthai (Headquarters), Ramintra Road Km.4.
Already fully booked, the Nissan GT-R T-spec features a 3.8-liter V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine, individually handcrafted by its own Takumi technician, gives refinement and powerful performance. The engine is rated at 555 horsepower and 632 Nm torque. The engine power is transferred to all four of the GT-R wheels via an independent rear transaxle, the all-wheel-drive system.
Chayapak Laisuwan, General Manager Communications, Nissan Thailand said, “Together with Nissan Krungthai, having the honor to handover our legendary vehicle, the new GT-R T-spec, to our first group of valued Thai customers is fantastic. Nissan Krungthai is only official dealer and service center for the legendary sports car, Nissan GT-R, in Thailand. With more than 50 years of racing history, I am sure that the iconic GT-R T-spec will bring the ultimate power, performance, and excitement of driving for our customers.”
The name ‘T-spec’ represents the GT-R’s philosophy of leading and shaping the times and is inspired by the words ‘Trend’ and ‘Traction’. As a trend maker, the car’s ability to drive with robust grip — a key characteristic engineers have always worked hard on — make it a traction master.
“I love a super sports car that delivers high performance and the distinctiveness of the Nissan GT-R inspired in the Fast and the Furious film. Previously, I had GT-Rs including R33, R34 and R35 models. This GT-R T-spec is my 4th GT-R. I am interested in its special color and design, such as elite carbon ceramic brakes, a carbon-fiber rear spoiler and its interior with quilted Alcantara headliner,” Tonthong Sukkaen, Thai Buddha Amulet Specialist and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association for Nonthaburi province. An owner of GT-R T-Spec in Midnight Purple talks about his passion for super sports cars and the exclusivity of the GT-R T-spec that he decided to purchase.
“The GT-R is my first super sports car and it's also my dream car. I've been fascinated by its unique design and charming body since the GT-R R34 model as well as the reputation of this legendary car, one of the most iconic sports cars. When I took a drive, I have experienced sportiness, high performance with exciting driving and the price. This vehicle is suitable and meets the needs, so I decided to buy it from Nissan authorized dealer – Nissan High-Performance Center," Veerapong Aucharoen, an owner of GT-R Premium Luxury edition in Gun Metallic tells the story of passion and reasons why he is fond of the GT-R.
