Bangkok (22 April, 2020) – Nissan in Thailand is celebrating dealer employees nationwide, recognizing 12 winners in the 2019 Nissan Skills Contest that involved more than 1,300 staff from Nissan dealerships nationwide, some of whom will go on to compete at a global Nissan skills contest next year.

The Nissan Skills Contest reinforces Thailand’s importance for the global brand and is designed to help sales consultants, service advisors, customer relations officers and technicians enhance their skills to uplift the quality of service delivery standards for the benefit of all valued Nissan customers. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the contest, with the final round and the award ceremony held at the Nissan Training Center in Bangna-Trad KM. 22, Samut Prakan on 9 February 2020.

After many rounds of rigorous tests, M1 Nakhon Sawan, Siam Nissan Mae Sod and Siam Nissan Burapha Prachin dealerships were the Master Champs, winning in two categories each: Service Manager and CRO sales categories for M1 Nakhon Sawan; Technician and Parts Consultant for Siam Nissan Mae Sod; Sales Consultant and CRO Service for Siam Nissan Burapha Prachin.

“Celebrating our dealer employees and exceeding customer expectations with excellent service are our top priorities, and all of our service advisors and technicians play a vital role in this. The goal of this competition is to show Nissan in Thailand’s dealer talent, and show our customers that our goal is to always try and give them only the best,” said Ramesh Narasimhan, president of Nissan in Thailand. “It is this focus on service excellence that helped Nissan in Thailand secure the number the one position in the J.D. Power 2019 Thailand Customer Service Index (CSI) Study.”

Winners from the Skills Contest also get global exposure at Nissan’s headquarters in Yokohama. Four winners from the past two competitions (two Technicians and two Service Advisors) will participate in the bi-annual Nissan Service Technical Excellence Competency Award (NISTEC) and Nissan Service Advisor Excellence Competency Award (NISAC) celebration, which honors top technicians and service advisors from across the world.

From simple beginnings a decade ago with just a few categories, today the Nissan Skills Contest has expanded to 12 categories, including Sales Manager - this year’s additional category for more holistic approach to service excellence.
