BANGKOK, Thailand (1 July 2022) - Nissan Motor Thailand today unveiled the New Nissan KICKS e-POWER, the electrified B-SUV with the 2nd Generation e-POWER technology that impressively delivers more power, higher torque and improved efficiency, as well as full suites of advanced active and passive safety technologies together with the new “Premium Sporty” AUTECH grade.

Isao Sekiguchi, Nissan Motor Thailand’s President, said, "Having Thailand as our major market for 70 years, Nissan has chosen the country as the first market outside of Japan to produce Kicks e-POWER and deliver the excitement of an electrified driving experience to Thai customers."

"The New KICKS e-POWER with the 2nd generation e-POWER technology provides more excitement and confidence on the road with an array of Nissan's unique technologies, such as e-Pedal step and 360-degree safety technology, and with attractive pricing to make the electrified vehicle more accessible to more customers."

The new Kicks e-POWER is manufactured at Nissan Thailand’s plants and sold not only for the domestic market but also for export, including to Japan and other markets. Its e-POWER battery has now also been assembled locally in Thailand, reflecting the excellence of Nissan Thailand's production facility as well as the impressive skills of local personnel.

The 2nd generation e-POWER : impressive power, smooth and responsive acceleration

The 2nd generation e-POWER comes with an integrated electric motor and inverter combined in the same housing, making it 30% lighter in weight. The new 2.06-kWh lithium-ion battery increases efficiency by 30% compared to the previous version. This results in a maximum power of 136 PS with the highest torque of 280 Nm. The new drivetrain provides the car with more impressive power, better but smoother acceleration and responsiveness, allowing drivers to enjoy the same driving experience as a full-electric vehicle without the need for an external charging or changing their daily lifestyle.

The 1.2 liter DOHC 12-valve 3-cylinder engine acts as the vehicle’s own power plant. Coupled with a generator and inverter, power from the engine is used to charge the battery. The combination of the engine and the larger battery not only provides impressive power but also improved fuel efficiency with 26.3 kilometres per liter for city drive and 23.8 kilometres per litre on average for overall mode*.

The intuitive e-Pedal Step : tireless & smoother driving

Another of Nissan’s unique technologies is the intuitive e-Pedal Step. The innovative feature provides drivers with greater convenience and a more tireless driving experience. While driving in Sport & ECO mode, a driver can simply lift the right foot off the accelerator, the vehicle speed will smoothly drop, the vehicle will keep creeping at the optimum speed, which is very helpful and increases driving confidence, especially while driving in city where there are lots of speed bumpers or lots of turns including parking and making the u-turn.

360-degree Safety Shield : enhanced safety and driving confidence

Nissan also added new safety technologies as part of its comprehensive 360-degree Safety Shield to the New Nissan KICKS e-POWER to provide drivers and passengers with the utmost confidence and safety on every journey. Lane Departure Warning (LDW) has been added. When the car is heading out of the lane and the driver doesn’t use the turning light, the system will vibrate at the steering wheel to warn the driver. High Beam Assist (HBA) assists a driver in automatically adjusting headlights from high beam to normal headlight when the system detects a car coming in front.

These new safety technologies, together with the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Intelligent Emergency Braking (IEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Blind Spot Warning (BSW), which are already available in the previous version, will help keep the driver and passengers safe on the road.

Ergonomic design : enhances driving comfort

Inside, all variants of the New Nissan KICKS e-POWER come with an improved design. The centre console has been redesigned to provide a more modern look, and its ergonomic design will increase comfort for both the driver and front passenger.

The newly designed shift knob adds a modern look and makes it easier to operate the car. High-quality soft-touch materials are used on several touchpoints, such as the arm rest and central console, making it more pleasant to sit down.

The new cup holder arrangement that fits any size of cup or tumbler is the result of Nissan’s in-depth customer research. The most recent upgraded infotainment system, NissanConnect, supports smartphone connectivity via both Android Auto** and Apple CarPlay, enabling easy mobile application usage on an 8-inch touchscreen display audio system.

AUTECH : debuts with premium sporty look

To add to the excitement, Nissan introduces to Thailand for the first time the AUTECH variant, the globally most sought-after modified version of Nissan cars that provides the distinct "Premium Sporty" look, both exterior and interior.

The exterior design of the new Kicks e-POWER AUTECH version is enhanced by its black-roof and blue body color scheme, stylish premium silver trims at the front, on the side and at the rear skirt, and sporty alloy wheels. In the interior design, the black with blue decoration accentuates the exterior sporty look while enhancing the more premium atmosphere inside the passenger cabin.
