BANGKOK, Thailand ( 23 November, 2018) - During the recent talk to 400 engineering students at Suranaree University of Technology, Akkarapol Kaewpinit, managing director of Nissan manufacturing in Thailand, shared the know-how in auto manufacturing.

Akkarapol, born a son to a farmer in Udon Thani, always wanted to pursue a career in manufacturing, and shared his journey and key insights into auto manufacturing for the students who represent the next generation of potential employees.

Akkarapol said that Nissan’s vision is to build new connections between vehicles, people and society through Nissan Intelligent Mobility – Nissan’s roadmap to move people to a smarter, better future.

“We don’t just implement Nissan Intelligent Mobility features in high-end, expensive vehicles, but across cars that are affordable to many of the fast-growing middle class. We call this democratization of technology. A strong example of this is the new Nissan Terra, an intelligent frame-based SUV being produced right here in Thailand at our Bangna plant, for Thailand and the rest of South East Asia,” he told the students.

At the same time, Nissan is leading the evolution of manufacturing with programs like the Alliance Production Way with Mitsubishi and Renault, designed to deliver strong benefits for customers, quality, and cost by eliminating waste and reducing delivery lead-time, he said.
