NISSAN PAVILION OFFERS ENGAGEMENT AND EXCITEMENT TO SHOWGOERS AT BANGKOK INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW All-new Nissan Note launch demonstrates new commitment alongside a Thai-first viewing of the pioneering Solid Oxide Fuel-Cell powered prototype vehicle at 38th Bangkok International Motor Show, 29 March- 9 April, 2017

Bangkok, 28 March, 2017— Nissan displayed an exciting 10-model product line-up at 38th Bangkok International Motor Show, and showcased its advanced technology prowess at the pavilion with the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle (EV) and the world’s first Solid Oxide Fuel-Cell (SOFC) prototype vehicle.

Nissan Thailand today elaborated on three key proactive strategies that will drive them towards the goal of becoming one of the Top brands in the market. Nissan placed highest important on customer satisfaction and trust with quality of experience through the customer journey and brand attractiveness as driving factors.

Speaking at the 38th Bangkok International Motor Show, Mr Antoine Barthes, the President of Nissan Motor Thailand, said:  “Our customers’ complete satisfaction is our number one goal. To achieve this goal we are now focusing on these three proactive strategies:

  • To extend the range of Nissan vehicles available in Thailand by introducing our newest products.
  • To strengthen and reinvigorate our 200 dealerships nationwide, working with them as true partners, with equal commitment, to deliver a seamless customer experience, and
  • To utilize our large footprint here in Thailand, including our advanced regional R&D facility, to deliver more special edition models, tailor-made for our local customers.”

At this prestigious event, Nissan is displaying a full range of vehicles that includes the all-new Nissan Note - a star attraction for Thai customers,. The Nissan Note was unveiled in January and deliveries began just 10 days ago. The line-up is rounded off by a very special preview launch of the Nissan Navara Black Edition.

According to Mr Barthes, these models reflect many of the state-of-the-art technologies developed under Nissan’s Intelligent Mobility concept, the company’s roadmap to achieve zero-emissions and zero-fatalities on the road.

Under this concept, Nissan is developing vehicles around three core areas of innovation: Nissan Intelligent Driving, Nissan Intelligent Power and Nissan Intelligent Integration.

“The all-new Nissan Note is already a best-selling model in Japan, so the red-hot reaction that we have had from the Thai motoring public to the all-new Nissan Note has been fantastic,” said Mr Barthes.

“The reaction clearly shows that local motorists demand compact cars that include the latest safety technologies developed under our Nissan Intelligent Mobility concept. Intelligent Driving features such as the Around View Monitor solution means that our customers can drive with more confidence thanks to increased safety, control and comfort for everybody on board the Nissan Note," he added.

In addition to the Note and a special version of the best-selling Nissan Navara- the Black Edition - Nissan will also be showcasing products representative of it global leadership position in EV and EV-based technology.

“We already have a diverse range of EV-based technologies in our portfolio.  In addition to 100% electric vehicles, these technologies include e-Power and fuel cell electric vehicles. Each new technology supplements the portfolio, but does not supplant other technologies,” Mr. Barthes said.

While the Nissan Leaf is the world's best-selling EV, the Solid Oxide Fuel-Cell powered prototype vehicle has the potential to drive the EV market growth even further. The prototype of ‘e-Bio Fuel-Cell’, Nissan’s Solid Oxide Fuel-Cell powered system’ runs on 100-percent ethanol to charge a 24kWh battery that enables a cruising range of more than 600kms.

Nissan will also have product specialists available at the show to discuss the key technologies on show in greater depth, including Mr. Mori, SOFC GM from Nissan Motor Japan.

In addition to these EV-based vehicles, Nissan will make many of its more popular models available for Thai customers to enjoy ‘up-close-and-personal’. In the sedan class, Nissan will proudly show the Nissan Sylphy DIG Turbo, the most powerful engine in sedan class with its 190 ps horsepower equivalent to 2.5-liter engine.

Also on show will be the superb Nissan Teana, the luxury sedan packed full of cutting-edge technology; in the SUV segment, the Nissan X-Trail hybrid with the Intelligent Dual Clutch system and, in the  ecocar sector, the Nissan March.

“Nissan is proud to showcase at Bangkok International Motor Show, our clear vision for the future: harnessing autonomous drive, electric vehicles, and connected car technologies and services to build the car – and the car company – of the future,” Mr. Barthes said.
