BANGKOK, Thailand (20 September 2021) – Nissan Thailand has allowed to delay its vehicle warranty and periodic maintenance policies during the COVID-19 pandemic, to help customers. The extension is aimed at reducing anxiety for customers, and updating parameters due to reduced travel during the pandemic. Nissan’s announcement means that the vehicle maintenance can be delayed, in accordance with the government’s specified period travel restrictions*.

Nissan is aware of the impact on Nissan customers. Car usage has decreased to strictly comply with disease prevention measures. Accordingly, Nissan has applied urgent measures for warranty and maintenance, to relieve customer stress. The key details are:

  • If a customer is not able to bring the vehicle for maintenance services in the specified period, during the government's announcement of travel restrictions, they will be permitted to delay service for the specified period of three months or three thousand kilometers, whichever comes first.*
  • If a customer cannot undertake vehicle periodic maintenance, due to the government's travel restrictions, the company allow the warranty to be retained.**

“Nissan Thailand is stepping into our 70th year in this country, standing with Thai people. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, particularly during this pandemic. We want to facilitate our customers as much as possible by delaying Nissan’s vehicle warranty policy to give our customers the flexibility and safety needed at this time,” said Isao Sekiguchi, President of Nissan Thailand. “In parallel, we have implemented numerous key preventive control measures for COVID-19 at Nissan dealers and service centers nationwide, so customers feel safe and confident whenever they visit.”

Nissan customers can bring their car in for a standard periodic check every 6 months or the distance specified in each vehicle model*, at Nissan service centers nationwide.
