BANGKOK, Thailand (April 1, 2019) – Nissan in Thailand today debuted the newly updated Nissan Almera MY19 and the E Sportech Special Version, offering  stylish interior and exterior designs and enhanced safety functions.

The new Sportech Special Version model takes a big step forward with a new sporty design and a range of accessories including back and front finishers, a black chrome front grille, sleek side skirt finishers, a black back spoiler, plus a new alloy wheel color and design as well as a new D-shaped steering wheel with leather cover. There are three exterior colors to choose from: Pearl White, Black Star and Brilliant Silver.

The new interior cabin exudes premiumness, with new Piano Black materials and silver trim that enhance the refined interior design. The new D-Shape steering wheel also offers easy-to-use sound system control buttons for added convenience.

“The Nissan Almera was Thailand’s first eco car sedan, and it remains extremely popular. The new Almera MY19 model offers an outstanding driving experience while remaining cost-effective for all,” said Sureetip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee, vice president of marketing, Nissan Motor Thailand. “This vehicle comes with a full range of functions that will exceed customer expectations.”

The new Almera MY19 also features a 7" touch screen Display Audio (DA) that has bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay connection, plus a Rear View Monitor for more convenience when reverse parking. The rear view camera, mounted on the back of the vehicle, helps drivers see what’s directly behind them by displaying it directly on the Display Audio unit so they do not need to turn their head.

The new Almera MY19 (1.2 S MT up to the top 1.2VL Sportech models) also brings an upgraded and stylish exterior, featuring Halogen head lamps equipped with the new “follow-me-home” function, plus new side mirrors that show when the turning signal is engaged.

“The new Almera MY19 helps protect drivers and passengers with a set of Nissan Safety Shield features thanks to the Nissan Safety Shield concept, a comprehensive approach that guides the engineering and development of every vehicle Nissan makes,” said La-Ongthong Chomthongdee. “These include an anti-lock braking system (ABS), Electornic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) that enhances braking efficiency, and Brake Assist (BA).”

Engine capacity is set at 1,198cc with 79 Hp at 6,000 RPM and maximum torque of 106 N-m at 4,400 RPM. The new Almera is also cleverly engineered to be eco-friendly and deliver strong fuel economy. The XTRONIC CVT system allows the car to accelerate much more smoothly compared to other automatic transmissions, with minimal CO2 emissions of less than 120 grams per kilometer, which equals European standards.

Seven contemporary exterior colors: Pearl White, Deep Iris Grey, Brilliant Silver, Black Star, Radiant Red, Grayish Bronze, and Plum. Prices start at 445,000 baht for the 1.2 S MT model.
