(Bangkok, 16 August 2017): Nissan brought media to Sakon Nakhon province to provide flood recovery for people in affected area in “Navara Flood Recovery Road Trip”. The road trip saw Nissan Navara, showcasing its performance,  deliver 10,000 bottles of water and additional necessities donated by Nissan employees to Sakon Nakhon Red Cross in order to support flood victims in the area.

Antoine Barthes, President, Nissan Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd. said, “Nissan has forged deep relationships with Thai people for more than 65 years. In this crisis moment, Nissan has initiated several flood relief efforts to help Thai people recover from the floods including our partnership with the Board of Investment Thailand (BOI) to donate THB 300,000 to the government on 4 August 2017 and the partnership with Nissan Dealers Centre to offer 30% discount on Nissan spare parts and lubricant for customers whose vehicles were affected by the recent flash floods. Nissan employees had also contributed to “Navara Flood Recovery Road Trip”. All donation and nessecities donated by employees along with 10,000 bottles of water were delivered to the Friends in Need (of Princess-Pa) Volunteers Foundation and the Thai Red Cross at Sakon Nakhon City Hall on 11 August 2017.

The road trip started at Nissan Motor (Thailand) production hub on Bangna Trad km. 22 which is a home to Nissan Navara plant that exports to 105 destinations around the world. Various models of Navara were used for this special activity including Sportech Edition and Black Edition. The Navara Sportech comes with aero parts and sportier design. It offers incredibly roomy interior with 8-way adjustable seat in two-tone color leather while the Navara Black Edition boasts even more Tough and Sporty design with accessories package  including black projector headlamps , black grille, black fog lamp housing, black wing mirror caps, black door handle, black side steps, black rear bumper and black Shark Fin antenna (*exclusive for Double Cab model). The black graffiti design is also added to the side with the Black Edition emblem. 18-inch allloy wheels contributes to the pickup’s “go anywhere” capabilities. Additionally, Cruise Control also comes as standard equipment. Each Navara, which has been recognized for its ability to withstand rigorous work by users around the world for more than 80 years,  were packed with two tons of all neccessities including bottles of water, rice and instant food.

On a 1500-kilometer round trip from Bangkok to Sakon Nakhon, Navara demonstrated a great response performance despite of the heavy load carried with its 2.5-liter DOHC 4-cylinder diesel engine powering maximum of 190 hp for Sportech Edition and 163 hp for Black Edition. The use of Turbo Charger together with 7-speed automatic transmission and 6-speed manual transmission results in better performance and fuel efficiency. The interior is designed for passenger comfort. Luxury instrument panel, new steering wheel, premium design in center console paints Navara with the sense of luxury SUV. All Navara models comes with safety equipment and comfort functions including rear view camera, ABS, airbag, push-start smart entry, rear air vent and Dual Zone Automatic air conditioner.
