Welcome talking point The all-new Nissan LEAF thematic media test drive
7 to 11 October 2019
- Welcome to this interactive full day city test drive with 10 all-new Nissan LEAFs. This test drive has been designed to be extremely challenging under our “Simply Amazing” concept.
- This event is an official test drive for the all-new Nissan LEAF and will allow you to conquer Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain, driving on a single overnight charge.
- The all-new Nissan LEAF is the icon of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the world’s best-selling built-from-the-ground-up 100% electric vehicle, with more than 430,000 units already sold globally. This ambitious road test showcases its extended range from just one overnight charge and will let you experience its amazing performance and regenerative braking system.
- We wanted to test the performance, innovation, and comfort of the all-new LEAF, which has been designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle. We felt an ascent on a single lane road to the top of Doi Inthanon was a good way to do this – so thank you for partnering with us on that!
- The descent from the peak will also allow us to showcase the power of the simply amazing regenerative braking system and e-Pedal technologies – standard in the all-new LEAF - which can help increase range. We have done a number of trial runs already and I could not be prouder of how the all-new LEAF delivered outstanding performance that will allow us to conquer Thailand’s highest mountain.
- Heading the all-new LEAF’s Nissan Intelligent Driving technology is e-Pedal, which lets drivers start, accelerate, decelerate, and stop using just one pedal by increasing or decreasing the pressure applied to the accelerator. You will get to experience that first-hand today.
- Regenerative braking can also help increase range when the brakes are applied or speed is reduced, with the electric motor acting as a generator by converting energy that would otherwise be lost into battery energy.
- The all-new LEAF is built upon over 70 years of electric vehicle heritage, starting with the release of the Tama in 1947, Nissan’s first EV model. It is a total rethink of the driving experience, making a car more than just a car, and creating an exciting and more sustainable future for all.
- The all-new LEAF has a driving range exceeding 311 km according to NEDC standards, with a battery capacity of 40 kWh.
- Its e-Powertrain gives the all-new Nissan LEAF 110 kW of power output and 320 Nm of torque, with improved acceleration from 0 – 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
- We hope you enjoy today’s Simply Amazing test drive with the all-new Nissan LEAF.
