Nissan X-Trail Remains the “World’s Best-Selling SUV”

Bangkok, Thailand. (April 10, 2018) The Nissan X-Trail continued its reign as the most loved SUV in the world in 2017, leading global SUV sales across the world for the second year in a row.

Figures released by global automotive intelligence firm JATO Dynamics show that, in 2017, the Nissan X-Trail was the world’s best-selling Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and the fourth best-selling vehicle overall with 814,000 units sold. You can read more about the JATO Dynamics report on 2017 global car sales here.

This comes as no surprise as the X-Trail has received a range of awards and accolades here in Thailand, including being recognized recently as the ‘Best Hybrid SUV Under 2,000 CC’ at the ‘Car of the Year 2018’ awards at the 39th Bangkok International Motor Show 2018.

To celebrate these milestones, Nissan Motor Thailand is offering its valued X-Trail customers even better value-for-money and peace of mind with attractive Easy Pay monthly installments starting at 9,900 Thai baht, including a year of Nissan Premium Protection first-class insurance.

Nissan is also the only automaker to offer a hybrid Electric Vehicle with pure EV mode in its SUV class. On sale since 2015, the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid spearheads a range of Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, offering the powerful performance of a bigger 2.0-liter engine but with best-in-class fuel efficiency.

The X-Trail Hybrid is also the first in its class to feature Around View Monitor (AVM) providing a 360-degree real-time view of the surroundings, helping drivers park, safely maneuver, or confidently merge in heavy traffic.

“I believe that the Nissan X-Trail became the world’s best-selling SUV because consumers found its combination of high-performance, high-efficiency, safety and practicality truly compelling,” said Sureethip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee, Vice President of Marketing at Nissan Motor (Thailand).

“Also, being the first and only Hybrid SUV, coupled with its 360-degree AVM and comprehensive array of active and passive safety features, this vehicle really gives the driver and passengers even more pleasure and comfort. Add to that the ”Hybrid X-Clusive Care” of 5-year hybrid system and 10 year battery warranty with unlimited mileage, and you can see how Nissan is putting our customers at the heart of everything we do.”
