BANGKOK, Thailand (August 3, 2018) - Nissan Motor Thailand’s participation at this week’s Thailand Industry Expo 2018 reflects the company’s commitment to introducing high-quality products like the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle and innovative new technologies under Nissan Intelligent Mobility to Thailand.

“Nissan will highlight our Note, Almera, and Navara models at the Thailand Industry Expo 2018, which runs from August 2 to 5 at the Impact-Challenger Muang Thong Thani, while also offering special promotions during the event, said Sureetip La-Ongthong, Vice President Marketing, Nissan Motor Thailand Co.

“Nissan has been growing alongside the Thai automotive industry for over 65 years. We provide our valued Thai customers with a variety of products tailored to fit the lifestyle of and automotive needs of all Thai people,” La-Ongthong said, adding that Nissan’s participation at the Industry Expo is just another way in which it continues to support the Thai government’s 4.0 initiative to create ‘Change to Shift,’ which is the event’s theme.

Thailand 4.0 is designed to spur ongoing innovation and technological development by ensuring Thai workers are increasingly exposed to an ever growing knowledge base. As part of its commitment here, Nissan has established the Research and Development (R&D) Center and The Test Center under Nissan Motor Asia Pacific (NMAP).

These are examples of how Nissan continues to follow the government’s initiative by driving ongoing responsible product evaluation during the manufacturing process and ensuring that its products meet market requirements.

Nissan is also a pioneer in electric vehicles technology, which can significantly improve the driving experience and quality of life for Thai consumers. The company has previously announced that the Nissan Leaf – the best-selling Electric Vehicle in the world – is coming to Thailand during its 2018 fiscal year.

Nissan also has a significant production footprint in Thailand: it is one of the leading manufacturers of commercial trucks in the country and a leading producer of eco-cars, with more than 500,000 such vehicles already manufactured locally. The export of commercial trucks generate substantial revenue for the country.

Nissan is also participating in the “Big Brother” program by the Department of Industrial Promotion (DIP) to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) move forward into the Thailand 4.0 era by sharing automotive and technological knowledge with this group to help add value and support the growth of local SMEs to help enhance their capabilities and business success.
