Nissan Intelligent Mobility to support Thailand 4.0

BANGKOK – Nissan Motor Thailand shared its expertise as the world's leading electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer with public institutes and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand.

An “EV Day” academic seminar was organized by Thailand Automotive Institute and Ministry of Industry at BITEC Bangna to facilitate knowledge sharing and build the Thai automotive industry’s capabilities.

Nissan’s vice president of government relations in Thailand, Tomohiko Yao said, "Our participation at "EV Days" is a part of a continuous 'Big Brother Project' by the Thai Ministry of Industry in support of Thailand 4.0. Under the project, Nissan shares vital knowledge based on our 70 years of EV experience and expertise. This project helps local SMEs in automotive to increase their value and move to the future of automotive in Thailand with confidence."

The new Nissan LEAF, the world's best-selling zero-emissions EV, took center stage at the recent symposium. Participants were able to experience the e-Pedal technology, the one-pedal operation that allows drivers to bring the car to a complete stop even on hills, stay in position and resume driving instantly. The new Nissan LEAF is the icon of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, Nissan’s vision to move people to a better world through safe, smart and sustainable mobility.

The new Nissan LEAF has won numerous awards from its advanced technology as well as a five-star safety rating from European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) and Japan New Car Assessment Program (JNCAP). Nissan aims to bring the new Nissan LEAF to the region within this fiscal year and sell one million electrified vehicles worldwide by fiscal year 2022.
