Nissan to showcase latest innovations at Thailand Industry Expo 2017
Nissan’s Electrification strategy and its e-Power and EV solutions paving the road to the future
(BANGKOK, July 26, 2017): Nissan Motor Thailand will showcase innovative automotive solutions including Nissan e-Power and the Nissan LEAF EV (Electric Vehicle) at the Thailand Industry Expo 2017.
The stars of the Nissan booth will be the Nissan LEAF, the world best-selling electric vehicle, and Nissan’s e-Power technology, while special models like the Note VL Dress Up and Almera 1.2 V Sportech will also be on display.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Industry, will be held from July 25 - 30 at the Challenger Hall 2, Muangthong Thani, with H.E. Deputy Prime Ministry Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak presiding over the opening ceremony.
Nissan’s participation at the Expo underscores its commitment to bringing the latest technologies to the Thai market. “Nissan is a technology leader, and we will be showcasing e-Power and EV, two of our landmark Nissan Intelligent Mobility solutions, at our booth,” said Mr. Antoine Barthes, President of Nissan Motor (Thailand) Co. Ltd.
As concerns about air quality and the environment grow, solutions like e-Power, and EVs like the LEAF, are essential to a smart, clean and sustainable driving future, without compromising affordability or driving pleasure.
“We are continuously evolving our Electrification strategy and portfolio, with the goal of making this accessible, attractive, and convenient for all driving needs. Nissan remains committed to advancing the entire ecosystem through continuing to work with governments and organizations to innovate forward looking thinking.” He said.
In 2010, Nissan brought the world's best-selling EV, the Nissan LEAF, to the market. The vehicle is not just a Zero-Emission car but also an EV with unprecedented quietness, acceleration and handling.
E-Power
While e-POWER borrows from the EV technology perfected in the Nissan LEAF, it adds a small petrol engine to charge the high-output battery when necessary, eliminating the need for an external charger while offering the same high-output.
This means that the wheels are completely driven by the electric motor. The power from a high-output battery is delivered to the e-POWER’s compact powertrain comprised of a gasoline engine, power generator, inverter, and a motor.
“At Nissan, we believe that the driving experience is defined by more than just the car. Nissan is committed to advancing the entire EV ecosystem beyond our vehicles, and we will continue to introduce innovative new products into various areas and promote the worldwide use of EVs,” Barthes said.
