Nissan conducts “LEAF Education” roadshow
Activity designed to educate the public on EVs and electrification in Thailand
Bangkok, Thailand (14 February 2019) Nissan in Thailand is conducting a series of educational activities designed to educate the public on Electric Vehicles and electrification in Thailand.
The first “LEAF Education” event, held in January, was enthusiastically received, featuring many advanced technologies available on the all-new Nissan LEAF, the world’s best-selling full battery EV, while also offering a glimpse into Nissan’s vision for the future of mobility under Nissan Intelligent Mobility.
“The announcement of the price and specifications for the all-new LEAF in Thailand at the end of last year underscores Nissan’s vision for the future of mobility, which we believe will help move people to a better world and society,” said Sureethip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee, Nissan’s vice president for marketing in Thailand. “The all-new Nissan LEAF will help transform the way people drive and live.”
The first Nissan “LEAF Education” event was designed to educate the public and answer questions about EV through various fun-filled activities. “We believe that the EV is among the key solutions to help address the issue of pollution currently impacting many cities across Thailand. As a result, the event was very well received,” said La-Ongthong Chomthongdee.
The event is aimed at educating the public about various technologies in an interactive format. “LEAF Ambassadors” or Nissan’s EV specialists join the sessions to answer questions from visitors. These questions include how EVs function, charging options – a charging station at home, whether through Normal Charge with 12-hour charge time or through Double Speed Charge with 6-hour charge time, and Quick Charge Port that gives drivers the fastest charge time in just 40 minutes.
One of the most asked questions was about home preparation for EV owners, and Nissan has addressed this issue by partnering with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority to perform an electrical system and charging station check.
The all-new Nissan LEAF is the best-selling electric vehicle globally, with over 380,000 units sold since it was first introduced in 2010. The latest generation is 38% more efficient than the previous one, with a driving range of more than 311 km according to the NEDC standard.
The all-new Nissan LEAF also offers an exhilarating acceleration with 110 kW of power output. It is also equipped with a broad set of advanced Nissan Intelligent Mobility safety technologies, such as e-Pedal, which allows the drivers to accelerate and brake using just one pedal.
