BANGKOK, Thailand (March 26, 2018) – Nissan once again brings innovation and excitement to Thailand with the launch of 2018 Nissan GT-R Premium edition appealing to the customers seeking both GT (Grand Touring) and R (Racing) experiences.
The GT-R will be available at price of 13.5 million Thai baht, complete with a car warranty that covers three years or 100,000 kilometers backed by bespoke service from Siam Nissan TKF, the newly-appointed exclusive Nissan High-Performance Center to provide best-in-class customer service. The GT-R is produced at Nissan's world-class plant in Tochigi, Japan.
“I am thrilled to bring the most advanced, most refined and most progressive super sports car Nissan has ever built to Thailand,” said Antoine Barthes, President of Nissan Motor Thailand. “Nissan is once again delivering on our ongoing quest to bring innovation and excitement for everyone. We put our customers at the heart of everything we do, which is why we are making supercars accessible to everyone. We heard loudly and clearly from our excited fans here in Thailand that they wanted this legendary vehicle,” he said.
The GT-R is Nissan’s iconic super sports car, engineered and refined from Nissan’s more than 35 years of experience in global motorsport development.
Among the fastest production cars in the world, the 2+2 grand touring coupé is powered by a hand-built 555 PS 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbo coupled to a six-speed sequential dual clutch transmission that performs gear changes in just 0.15 seconds when in R-Mode putting power to all four wheels – almost as fast as the blink of an eye.
Hiroshi Tamura, Nissan’s chief product specialist for the GT-R, said, “the GT-R always delivers a heart-pounding driving experience on any road for whoever sits in the driver’s seat. We continue to push its performance boundaries to the limits, and it is now even more potent than before. At the same time, more refinement has been added to take the entire driving experience to a stunning new level. We’re proud to bring to owners what we feel is the ultimate GT that possesses amazing performance, newfound comfort, and a rich racing history.”
Customers can personalize the vehicle with one of four interior colors: Black Amber, Ivory, Saddle Tan, and Red Amber, and an option of six body colors - Katsura Orange, Vibrant Red, Pearl Black, Gun Metallic, Pearl White, and Pearl Blue.
Pranid Supatadarut, Managing Director of Siam Nissan TKF, added, “we are very honored to be exclusive Nissan High-Performance Center in Thailand. The hood, featuring pronounced character lines flowing flawlessly from the grille, is reinforced to enhance stability during high-speed driving.
The curving profile of the front lower spoiler was slightly extended and lowered by a few millimeters to improve airflow at its lower edge. The C-pillars were also redesigned, with the upper portion shaped to deliver better airflow management.
The rear of the GT-R continues to be defined by its iconic round taillights. A silver-finish diffuser and side air vents were incorporated next to the quad titanium exhaust tips to improve the car's aerodynamics.

The 8-inch touch-screen puts all information you need in a single location, features large icons on the display screen to allow the user to easily manage the audio system, telephone controls, and other infotainment functions.
Hand-built powertrain and first-class engineering
The 2018 GT-R's award-winning 3.8-liter 24-valve twin-turbocharged V6 engine – each unit handcrafted in Yokohama by its own Takumi master technician – delivers 555 PS at 6,800 rpm and 632 Nm of torque. GT-R’s new titanium exhaust with open value system provides a richer, more exciting sound.
The transmission shift-management control of the sequential 6-speed dual clutch transmission has been updated for better refinement and performance in a variety of driving situations.
The GT-R's Bilstein® DampTronic driver-adjustable shock-absorber system features three selectable driver settings: Normal; Comfort, for maximum suspension compliance; or R. The GT-R runs on Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT ultra-high performance run-flat nitrogen-filled tires designed to match the suspension characteristics. Standard tire sizes are 255/40ZRF20 front and 285/35ZRF20 rear.
Stopping power is provided by Brembo® monoblock six-piston front, and four-piston rear calipers with 390 mm front and 380 mm rear Brembo® full-flo, ating, cross-drilled two-piece rotors, and low-steel, high-stiffness brake pads that minimize fade and provide intense stopping performance.
“The GT-R is designed for consumers who have a passion for performance, an appetite for the excitement of motorsports, and a discerning taste for luxury. Every GT-R is meticulously hand-crafted by the most skilled technicians. I am so proud to bring Thailand not just a new vehicle, but a legend!” Barthes said. “The GT-R is built with obsessive attention to detail and a radical belief that a true supercar delivers performance in real-world conditions for anyone, anywhere, anytime. Perfectly refined, ingenious, yet brilliantly capable, turning the automotive world on its head,” he added.
